500,000 NIGERIANS BENEFITED FROM FEDERAL GOVERNMENT N-POWER PROGRAM, SAYS PRESIDENCY

He said Nigerian youths have been continuously stuffed with the famous sayings that ‘you are the future of tomorrow, yet the quality of the future talking about is clouded with uncertainty’, adding that over 500,000 of Nigerian youths and women across all the 774 local government of the country have been engaged since 2016.

The Special Assistant on job creation pointed out  that this has go a long way in reducing the rate of unemployment in the country, further adding that,”200,000 youths were engaged in the first batch, and 300,000 was also engaged in August 2018 in the second batch of the program.

Penpushing also reports he explained that this approximately to 500,000 Nigerian youths and women who have benefited from the N-Power Program, and added that Nigerians need to lay foundational blocks and commence the process of building if we are to have the future of our dreams.

He stressed that the N-Power social investment program of President Muhammadu Buhari was specifically designed for the unemployed youths between the age of 18 to 35, recognized and fully associate with the Build the Future Movement.

“Build The Future is a platform that advocates for the progress, empowerment and development of Nigeria through her most important asset which is her youths. The president promised Nigerians four years ago that he would take youth employment as one of his top priority if voted into power, and diversify Nigeria economy so as to engaged more people, and also to intervene directly through a program called National Social Investment Programmes’.

He pointed out that the selection process for the beneficiaries of the program was smooth and transparent, noting that the program was not politically motivated because beneficiaries were choose irrespective of their religious or political affiliation.

“Youths are engaged in this program and their stipends are paid consistently directly into their bank account every month, Oyo State has 200,000 beneficiaries both in the first and second batch, and we also have none graduate program here’.

Penpushing also reports that, Imoukhuede urged all the youths to vote for President Buhari come 2019 general election so that the N-Power program can be permanent and more youths can be accommodated in the programme.

Speaking,  Adeshina Rasheed,  a fish farmer from Oluyole local government, who was employed as a primary school teacher, under the N-Power program, said that he commended the federal government for the program.

“I must say that this program is transparent enough because I obtained a late form and I did not know any politicians, still, i was employed under the program, and with the little stipends am earning, am doing great in my family and my fish pond farming is doing well.”

The beneficiary however appealed to the Federal Government to please make the program a permanent one because if they refuse to do so the whole system can turn to a failed project.

Penpushing further reports that number beneficiaries who spoke at the event express their gratitude to the Federal Government and appeals to the government to make the program a permanent one.
