Gunmen kidnap Federal University of Agriculture undergraduate
Gunmen have kidnapped a 400-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Olayinka Toyinbo, in Odeda farm located in Odeda local government area of Ogun State
Penpushing reports that, the victim in the Aquaculture and Fisheries Management Department of the institution was reportedly abducted in a private farm in Abule Itoko about 25 minutes drive from the university.
The colleague of the victim said he kidnapped around 8 a.m on Saturday where he had been living and working as a practising livestock farmer for the past three years, a job to sustain himself as a self-sponsored indigent student of the university.
Penpushing reports that as at the time of filing this report, the management of the institution had reported the abduction to the police said to be working towards ensuring his release unhurt, just as source also informed that the undergraduate was seized alongside two others, which include a 17-year-old Togolese lady and a farmer said to be owner of the farm.
The kidnappers, it was further gathered had already established contact with the wife of the farmer, demanding N50 million ransom from each of their victims.
Penpushing also reports that, as at the time Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi was contacted, he said that he was not yet aware of the incident.
