Central Bank management visits family of assassinated couple in Abeokuta

The management of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday visited the families of the couple assassinated on new year day in their private residence located in Government Reservation Area (GRA),Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital

Penpushing reports that the team led by a Director in the Governor’s Office of Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) arrived in a luxurious bus with registration number 10L289FG at about 12.30pm and engaged in a meeting with the bereaved families.

The meeting was held at a spacious compound located opposite the deceased home, and had in attendance representatives of both families of the late husband and wife, where both Christopher Somide and Jinmi Bajela spoke behalf of the families.

Penpushing further reports that the leader of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) team who declined to disclose his name said the team came on the directive of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to commiserate with the families.

The Director who was accompanied by management staff of the apex bank from Abuja, Lagos and Abeokuta said the gruesome murder of the couple, Kehinde Fatinoye and Bukunola Fatinoye was a big loss to the management

Penpushing also reports that he described the late husband who was their colleague as peace loving person, who doesn’t want anybody to be unhappy at all time, and encouraged the bereaved families to take solace in God

‘The death is painful. Mr Fatinoye was a peaceful man. He does not want anybody to be unhappy. This incident is bad and unfortunate. I believe and have the conviction that those behind the crime will be brought to book. Let us console ourselves’, he said

Penpushing reports that he assured the families that on the part of the management of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), they would ensure that justice is done, stressing that the best that could be done now is to commiserate with the families

‘The best we can do now is to commiserate with the family. We will ensure that justice is done. We pray that God will unveil the perpetrators of the killings, and we call on the security agencies to expose those behind the act’, he emphasized.

Penpushing further reports that it is recalled the arsonists after terminating the lives of the couple, also abducted their son, Oreoluwa who was thrown into Ogun river, and the corpse recovered by fishermen 48 hours.

The remains of the couple were, however, buried on Monday at Lantoro cemetery, while the recovered corpse of their son were equally committed to mother earth on Tuesday at a cemetery located along Siun-Abeokuta road in Abeokuta
