2023: Vote people with good records of achievements to rule Nigeria, Peter Obi urge electorate

The presidential aspirant ahead of the general elections in 2023 Peter Obi has urged Nigerian to vote for candidates with track records and verifiable achievements, to lead the country in the next political dispensation adding that he is readily  available to lead the country to greater height.

Penpushing reports that, Obi made the appeal when he met with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and members of the Ogun state chapter at the party secretariat located along Presidential boulevard in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital,stressing that it is time for someone from the South-East zone gets the opportunity to administer the affairs of the country.

The former Governor  of Anambra lamented the  high rate of insecurity in the country, adding that it was due to leadership failure, which refused to look into the future, hence, the consequence we are witnessing as at today

”There is agitation everywhere. We have banditry, terrorism. Our country never looked into the future and the consequences are what we are seeing today Is a failure of not investing in the future. We must act now so that Nigeria will not collapse”,Obi emphasized

“Our country has 33 percent of unemployment when you add underemployment, it’s about 65 percent and 60 percent of these are youths. Our youths in their productive age are doing nothing. Today our country is owing retirees pensions and gratuities. We must change this situation. Our universities are closed, about 16 million students out of school, unemployment amongst our Youths is the highest in the world”, he said.

“Think about the society your children will live, anybody who comes here and say to you that he wants to be a President, ask about his records, ask questions about his achievements in the past. Investigate him on  how he managed the  public funds’. Go and investigate my past. I was governor of Anambra for eight years. My record is there. We need to fix our local and state governments. We need to work for the people and also make sacrifices,” he said

Penpushing further reports that the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)in the state, Hon Sikirulai Ogundele  in his remarks described Peter Obi as a man of integrity, stressing that he is capable to rule Nigeria,noting that all the presidential aspirants under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)are better than that of All Progressives Congress, (APC).
