118 coronavirus patients receive home treatment in Ogun State
One Hundred and Eighteen coronavirus patients are currently receiving home treatment in Ogun State, with other eighteen patients on the admission in the isolation centres at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital ,Sagamu and Federal Medical Centre ,Idi-Aba, Abeokuta .
Penpushing reports that, Incident Manager of coronavirus in the state, Dr. Kayode Soyinka made this known at a Media roundtable on coronavirus and adolescent sexual and reproductive health organised by Society for Family Health /A360 project in collaboration with Ogun State Primary Health Care Development Board, in Abeokuta .
The Incident Manager who is also Director, Public Health, Ministry of Health, explained that the record was as at Monday during the roundtable discourse, adding that the state had tested 7,564 cases , recorded 1,646 positive cases and discharged 1,489 cases .
“As at today (Monday), 118 patients are being managed at homes. 17 admitted at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital and two at Federal Medical Centre isolation centres . We have started this since June 16 “, Soyinka said
Penpushing further reports that, Soyinka disclosed that no fewer than 26 patients had died of the virus, and explained reason for the home treatment of the patients, which he said 96 percent of samples taken were either having little or no symptoms .
The Medical Doctor also disclosed that four of the six isolation centres had been shut ,adding that 18 patients were admitted at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital(OOUTH) as well as two admitted at the Federal Medical Centre(FMC),Abeokuta
Penpushing reports that, the media roundtable had in attendance limited number of journalists in line with coronavirus protocols while other participants joined via online, and was declared open by the Commissioner of Health, Dr Tommy Coker.
