Zamfara state lawmaker shot dead while conveying son to airport enroute Sudan
A member of Zamfara State House of Assembly, Mohammed Ahmed, who recently defected to ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) from Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has been shot dead while conveying his son to Kano to board a flight to Sudan.
Penpushing reports that, the lawmaker who was the chairman, House committee on Appropriation, and represented Shankafi in the state’s assembly was reportedly killed by bandits along Sheme- Funtua Road in Yan Kara in Sheme local government area of Katsina State.
The media aide of Governor Bello Matawale of Zamfara state, Yusuf Idris, confirmed the sad incident, adding that the deceased embarked on the journey on Tuesday shortly after the defection ceremony in Gusau
Penpushing further reports that, It is recalled that Governor Matawalle left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside with all elected officials in the state except his Deputy, Mahdi Aliyu, and a state lawmaker.
