Youths shun police threat embarks on memory protest against police brutality in Oyo state

Nigerian youths on Wednesday shunned police threat  to embark on protest to commemorate one year memory of anti-police brutality,as they trooped out in their hundreds into streets in Ibadan, Oyo state capital to hold the protest.

Penpushing reports that the protesters converged at Iwo road roundabout, Ibadan, before marching through the streets of the ancient city, inspite presence of heavily armed policemen around monitoring the flow of the protest.

The protesters with placards of various captions were seen singing and chanting anti-police brutality, demanding the release of all protesters who have been detained since the protest held last year, accusing the government of not being upright.

Penpushing further reports that, the protesters stressed that government should not only prosecute protesters arrested but also prosecute policemen who shot at protesters as well adding that  they will not back out until all detainees are released.
