Engineers Institute elects Mayowa Idowu as Ogun state chairman

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) Ogun Chapter has elected Engr  Olumayowa Idowu as its new chairman, at a peaceful election held in Abeokuta, the State Capital

Penpushing reports that, the election took place at the Institute 4th Annual General Meeting produced other officers including; Engr. Abolaji Ilori(Deputy Chairman), Engr. Tolulope Erinoso(Vice Chairman Power Engineering Section), Engr. Wale Oguntade (Vice Chairman Telecommunication and Computer Engineering Section), Engr. Temitope Adegbuyi(Vice Chairman Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineering Section) and Engr. Akinola Solanke (General Secretary).

The other elected officials are Engr. Odumala Tunde(Treasurer),  Engr. Monsuru Lamidi(Financial Secretary), Engr.Joseph Odiete (Publicity Secretary),Engr. Oludayo Oluwole (Membership Secretary), Engr. Felix Adegboye, (Immediate Past Chairman).

Penpushing further reports that in his acceptance speech to lead the institute, Idowu said, “I am honoured to be elected Chairman of The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Ogun state Chapter.  Taking the reins of leadership of this foremost body is made easier by the transformational groundwork laid by my predecessors. I would like to thank the outgoing executives for their stewardship of the body over the years”.

“I have worked closely with my predecessor in pursuing our collective vision and building a formidable engineering body. Together with the other executive members I now look forward to the successful implementation of the transformative initiatives which will project NIEEEE better to the global world”, he added.

Penpushing also reports that, Idowu aside being recently elected Chairman, Statutory Audit Committee Nigerian Society of Engineers(NSE) National at the last National Annual General Meeting(AGM) of the body held in November 2020 at Abuja, he is also Abeokuta ex – officio of the institute, and he was the General Secretary 2018 – 2020.

The 20th Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, (NIEEE),  also had its Annual General Meeting where many far reaching decisions were made, while the Ogun Chapter was formally inaugurated as the 20th Chapter of the Institute on the 23rd of February, 2017.
