The daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Prof Iyabo Obasanjo has confirmed joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State Chapter, having left Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Penpushing reports that political sources had earlier revealed that she officially registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Ibogun Ward 11, Ifo Local Government area of the state.
The former Commissioner for Health in Ogun State and one time Senator confirmed to Penpushing Media on Wednesday, emphasizing her movement to All Progressives Congress(APC) was correct, adding that in due course she will speak extensively on the defection from Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)
Penpushing further reports that in similar vein former chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government and a close associate of Obasanjo had earlier disclosed that she completed her online registration with All Progressives Congress(APC) on Tuesday

The politician born on April 27, 1967, trained as a veterinary doctor at the University of Ibadan, and later became Professor of Public Health at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, United States of America(USA), and between 2003 and 2007 she was a Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District at the naional assembly.
Penpushing also reports that it would be recalled that late last year, billboards featuring her photograph adorned strategic locations in Ogun State, sparking speculation about her possible political return ahead of the 2027 elections.
The inscriptions on the billboards reads, “In Ogun State, we know ourselves. Sen (Prof) Iyabo Obasanjo. Omo wa ni, eniyan wa ni, ara wa ni.”
Penpushing reports that following sudden emergency of the billboards, Obasanjo at the 70th birthday of Chief (Mrs). Gloria Shoda, said those behind the promotional billboards are some people who have worked with her in the past, stating that they did that in appreciation of her past

“Some people who have worked with me in the past came together and expressed support. I asked them to stop, as I am living well in the US, teaching at the university. But they insisted, saying it was a token of appreciation for my past work. I allowed them to continue”, she said
Penpushing further reports that she explained that any future political decision is guided by God and her supporters, pointing out that public encouragement is a reflection of past goodwill.
