VOTE FOR CONTINUITY, DEVELOPMENT IN OGUN, FILMMAKERS ENJOIN OGUN PEOPLE

The coordinator of the movement, Tunji Bamishigbin, while speaking with Penpushing  at the rally said that the present situation of the State need to maintained, hence, the need to direct people to good governance

“We consider that the situation in Ogun State as regards the upcoming elections there has been a lot of mix-up, the competition is changing, the line is changing, so we want direct the attend the people to good governance, as we have witnessed in Ogun in the last eight years,

“Irrespective of the division that is on ground, we want to witness the continuity of a good government, we are not speaking for any party, we are speaking for continuity, we want someone in the post who will continue what we have witnessed in the last eight years, as for the fact that he face is changing in Ogun State in the last eight years, we want that to continue”.

The film Producer and Director, also said “we are aware of the position that Ogun State takes the lead in the entertainment industry in Nigeria, from the very beginning, we have great people in the industry from the likes of Hubert Ogunde, Wole Soyinka, Haruna Ishola, Yusuf Olatunji, Ayinla Omowura, Ebenezer Obey, even in the entertainment, we want Ogun to benefit more from the entertainment industry,

We also want the industry to become one of the largest means of revenues for the country aside Oil, because I believe that if Ogun progress, our industry will progress, so we want a government to continue in what the present government do which has been the highest contribution to entertainment, and which we have witnessed, so we want continuity and who wants to come, must take note of these, and that’s why we gathered ourselves as artistes to announce this”

Also speaking with the National President of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, he said “the Governor of Ogun State has done wonderfully well in terms of infrastructure and in terms of artistic support, he has been supporting us, so we believe in whom much is given, much is expected, so the best thing is to give him support and to also give Ogun State support and Nigeria at large”

Penpushing also reports that Afeez Oyetoro also enjoined the people of the State to vote in peace and to eschew violence during and after the elections in state.”Let’s vote in peace, we don’t want violence, so we the members of theatre practitioners are advocating for a peaceful election, let’s go out and vote on the election day peacefully” he said.
