VICTORY LIFE BIBLE CHURCH GIVES FREE FOOD ITEMS, CASH TO RESIDENTS TO CELEBRATE NEW YEAR
The beneficiaries of the gestures cut across all age groups and sex, as well as the less privileged while the security operatives on special assignment for the New Year anniversary were not left out. The exercise was also noticed as not discriminating against religion or ethnic group.
Penpushing further reports that, the beneficiaries came out in their thousands to receive the free food items, cash gifts, and were seen expressing joy and appreciation to the church for considering their welfare as top priority as the year started on January 1
‘This is not new to us, the church has been doing this, even before any of such celebration. We are always grateful for the gestures. I can tell you that, before now, number of residents have benefited from the empowerment programme of the church, which was not made public. All I can say is that, we pray that God will continue to enrich the church, as it put smiles on our faces, often and often’, an aged beneficiary said
However, the founder of the globally known church, Apostle Achudume in an interview with Penpushing explained that, giving has been the lifestyle of the church, and always cautious of the important need for all not to go to bed hungry
‘In Victory Life Bible Church, giving is a life style to us and we do not want anybody to go to bed hungry or sad because of food or any material thing and that is why every year I and my wife give scholarship to at least 40 people in various schools not counting other needs of people we try to meet’.
He added,’ But today’s outing and giving of food stuff was to ensure that as many as we can reach do not start the year on a sad note, we want them happy and joyful and to assure them there’s hope of a better year;
Penpushing also reports that, the General Overseer added, ’we added the Traffic Police / Trace officials on duty because they are working to keep the city peaceful without traffic problems and while others are at home they are working for us so everywhere’
