Veteran journalist, Bowale Itiola to be buried March 13
The remains of veteran journalist, Bowale Itiola, popularly called “Koko Inu Iwe-Iroyin “who retired from the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) after meritorious service will be committed to mother earth on March 13. 2026.
Penpushing reports that the second child of the deceased Mrs Oluwakemi Ahmed made this known on Tuesday in a statement adding that the burial service is scheduled to hold between 12 and 13 March, 2026.
The statement added that the service of songs will hold at residence of the late journalist on March 12, 2025 by 5pm, as well as church service scheduled to hold at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Chapel by 10am to be followed with reception
“My dad will be buried on 12 and 13March 2026. Service at OOPL chapel and reception at OOPL. Song of service at his residence on 12th march by 5pm”, she wrote
Penpushing further reports that it would be recalled that the veteran radio broadcaster passed on, on the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the age of 74.
The deceased while in service brought professionalism and quality into the news and newspapers review presentation particularly the Yoruba version of newspapers review, known as ‘Koko Inu Iwe-Iroyin’
Penpushing also reports that the programme segment brought him to lime light, as well as fame and also became a household name in the media industry across the globe, and earned a nickname, ’Koko’, which became his trademark
The bereaved daughter announcing disclosed that her father died at a private hospital in Abeokuta explaining that the ace broadcast journalist had been on admission for few days receiving treatment for old age-related ailment, when he eventually gave up the ghost at about 2am
