VEHICLE PLUNGES INTO RIVER ALONG SAGAMU- IJEBU ODE EXPRESSWAY
The Commander said the man who drove the vehicle is a Non Academic Staff of the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, adding that the commission rescue team moved in immediately to the scene for rescue operations
Penpushing further reports that,Oladele added that the commission Rescue Team includes the recently recruiter professional Divers who participated at the rescue operations which made them dived into the River to conduct rescue operations underneath the river .
The commander said the commission efforts was later complemented by sister rescue and emergency agencies, adding that as at time of report the ill-fated Vehicle, a black coloured Honda Civic with registration number EPE892CV had been recovered from underneath the river .
Penpushing also reports that,he said the Divers are still working hard to recover the lone passenger in the Ill – fated vehicle when the crash occurred, adding that the victim was travelling from Ilaro to Ijebu Ode, both towns in Ogun State .
The Sector Commander, however advised motorists to drive cautiously especially around Bridges and reduce speed to prevent plunging into the rivers, and assured that the rescue operations would not be called off till the man is brought out from the River and/
Penpushing reports that, the sector also engaged the Construction Company, RCC, to ensure that the safety railings around the bridge and other Bridges enroute the Sagamu- Ijebu Ode – Benin Expressway be replaced before the completion of the corridor currently undergoing rehabilitation, to prevent motorists crashing into the River .
