University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association elects new executive
The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) has elected new set of executive to run affairs of the association for another tenure, as well as presentation on ‘The Infrastructural Renewal Programme of the Faculty’s Facilities’
Penpushing reports that, the election took place during the 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association on February 27, 2020 at the faculty, with the presentation focused on the construction of a students’ study centre and the remodeling and vertical extension of some of the existing buildings in the faculty.
The new leadership is led by Engr Dideolu Falobi as the National Chairman, Engr. Lawal Taiwo(National Publicity Secretary)
Penpushing further reports that, the newly elected Chairman, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, in his acceptance speech pledged the commitment of the new executive to the realization of the dreams of the founders of the Association.
The National Chairman, who is also an Administrator with the Penpushing Platform said this became necessary for the association being a tool for the restoration of the faculty to its glory days, mentoring of students and networking among members.
Penpushing also reports that, Falobi appealed to all members of the Alumni Association to join hands with him and the executive in the delivery on the mandate, and reassured the Dean of the readiness of the Alumni to be part of the Hooding ceremony.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engr. Oye Eribake, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Funso Falade as well as the out-going Chairman, Engr. Titi Omo-Ettu in their remarks, showered praises on the out-going Executive.
Penpushing reports that, they pointed out that the tenure of the immediate past executive witnessed tremendous progress in the life of the association, identifying some of the major achievements as include; ’the successful hosting of the 2nd and 3rd association lecture delivered by Engr. Dideolu Falobi, Managing Director, Kresta Laurel Limited and Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, Governor of Lagos State respectively.
*The endowment of N50, 000,000.00 (Fifty Million Naira Only) Professorial Chair at the Department of Surveying and Geo-informatics, as well as in Electrical and Electronic Engineering for the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Lagos by Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Seyi Makinde respectively.
