University of Lagos Alumni Association elects new officers

The University of Lagos Alumni Association, Ogun State branch has elected new executives led by Dr Olalekan Oketokun to run the affairs of the association for the next two years, and the election was ratified at the monthly general meeting of the body held in Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that other elected officials include Prof. Akinola Akinlabi (Vice- Chairman), Olawale Okunrounmu (Secretary), Esrv. Tajudeen Ibrahim (Assistant Secretary), Dr Segun Osadare                         (Treasurer), Rotr Olatunji Ola-Davies (Public Relations Officer/Social Director and Surv Korede Muritala(Financial Secretary)

The others are Deaconess Mojisola Oyedeji(Welfare Officer), Mrs Ronke Akinleye (Assistant Welfare Officer), Barrister Adeniyi(Legal Adviser), Prof. Adesina  Agboola (Ex-Officio Member 1), Mrs. Funlola Ajogbasile(Ex-Officio Member 2), AlhAJI Adekunle Adegbite(Chairman Elders Advisory Forum), Surv Adewale  Oluwafemi(Member Elders Advisory Forum) and Mr. Olanrewaju Fatoye (Member Elders Advisory Forum)

Penpushing further reports that, the chairman in his acceptance speech, praised the efforts of his predecessor, Prof.  Agboola, for his doggedness, discipline and selfless service, and equally promised to be a team player.

The association boss assured that he would also build on the modest achievements of the past executives, especially on membership drive, collaboration with relevant stakeholders with particular focus on inter-branch in-door games/sports and activities as well as special programs that will further boost the image of the association.

Penpushing also reports that, the new branch Chairman, is a Political Scientist, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honors degree from the Department of Political Science, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos in 1987.

The association boss equally obtained two Master’s Degree in Industrial and Labour Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies in 1997 and 2010 respectively from the University of Ibadan and a PhD in Political Science from Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that, the Ogun State born academic is a Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) and is happily married with children.
