TWO NEWLY ELECTED ROTARY EXECUTIVE MEMBERS KILLED IN AUTO CRASH

The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi when contacted  confirmed the incident, stating that the crash was caused by overspeed of the driver of the Volvo car, who lost control.

Penpushing further reports that, Akinbiyi said the corpses of the victims were later deposited at morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, shortly after the bodies were recovered from the wreckage, but could not establish the identities of the dead persons, adding that the accident vehicles have been towed to the police station in Sagamu

However, further investigation by Penpushing showed the identities of the victims, that they were members of the Rotary Club in Abeokuta, who were recently elected  executive members for the posts of Secretary and Director of Administration and meant  to be sworn in in July, when death took them away.

Penpushing also reports that, as at the time of fling this report, one of the deceased, Alamu  had being buried in his Iwo home town of Osun State according to Islamic rites, while burial arrangement of Eyitayo  is scheduled for Monday in Sagamu, his hometown.

The 9110 District Governor,Kola Sodipo  represented by his Deputy, Atinuke Ebun visited the families of the late colleagues in company of other officials, expressed shock over the ugly development, and prayed for the souls of the departed fellow Rotarians continue to rest in peace.
