Two burnt to death, 12 vehicles consumed in auto crash along Abeokuta-Lagos expressway
Two persons were burnt beyond recognition in the early hours of Thursday along Ilo-Awe along Abeokuta-Lagos section of the expressway when a tanker laden with petrol caught fire in an accident, involving five persons
Penpushing reports that the route commander of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Florence Okpe made this known in a statement, adding that a total of twelve vehicles which include 3 luxurious buses, 4 tricycles, 3 motorcycle and 1 bus were consume
The statement added that a total of 3 persons were seriously injured and rescued to General Hospital from the scene, as well as the corpses evacuated as at the time of filing this report, adding that the tanker fell and went into flame, and that men of the fire service were contacted to condorne the area to present secondary crash.
Penpushing further reports that, Okpe said the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Ogun State Command in collaboration with other sisters organizations carried out a rescue operation at about 1.30am.
The route commander said the suspected cause of the multiple crash was mechanical deficiency and while the tanker was ascending it rolled back and fell with the content spilled off and thereafter was fire outbreak.
