Two arrested while preparing for robbery operations in Ogun state

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two robbery suspects while preparing for operations along Awa-ijebu/Ijebu-Ode Expressway

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Sunday, and gave identities of the suspects as include: Odukoya Ayomide(32) and Abiodun Oyenuga (32).

The police spokesman said the suspects were accosted on the expressway on the 25th of August 2020 when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Awa ijebu CSP Adewalehinmi Joseph with his team were on routine patrol of the area when the alleged suspects were nabbed

“The suspects who are on motorcycle quickly jumped down on sighting the policemen and took to their heels. They were hotly chased and one of them Odukoya Ayomide was apprehended with a locally made cut to size double barrel gun while the second suspect escaped through the nearby bush”.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi said the arrested suspect informed the police on interrogation that  his fleeing partner was the person who invited him from Ijebu ode for robbery operation and that they were just going to carry out the operation when they were accosted by the police.

“The useful information obtained from the arrested suspect led the police to Shagamu where  Abiodun Oyenuga his fleeing partner was arrested on the 28th August 2020”, Oyeyemi said

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police  Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Special Anti- Robbery Squads (SARS) for discreet investigation, and warned those who are criminally minded to leave the state as the command will make it too hot for them under his watch
