Penpushing also reports that, Bankole explained that ‘we are in precarious situation that calls for urgent attention’, noting that a situation where parents, after caring for their children and getting them educated in anticipation that they will reciprocate, are the ones paying the bills of their grandchildren as a result of the high unemployment in the land is not only pathetic but portrays danger.

“Today, the salary of those parents are not regular, deductions are not paid let alone pensions. The dependency ratio indicates that seventy percent of young people are depending on thirty percent elderly ones. This is responsible for the high rate of poverty in the land.  Unless the trend is urgently controlled, danger is imminent’,Bankole said.

The former Speaker declared that, Action Democratic Party (ADP), is determined to fight poverty, with assurance that if elected he would  respect local government autonomy and its financial independence, create enabling environment for the private sector while placing premium on the development of Ado Odo / Ota axis of the State which he described as the economic hub of the State.

Penpushing recalled that, Bankole engaged in similar rallies, which witnessed large turnout of party faithfuls, at different times, held at Ota and Ijebu Ode for Ogun West and Ogun East Senatorial Districts respectively.
