Tribunal sacks Governor Sule of Nasarawa state, declares peoples democratic party candidate winner

The Governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, in a split decision on Monday sacked Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and declared David Ombugadu, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as duly elected.

Penpushing reports that two of the justices in the ruling delivered agreed that the election was won by the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while one judge dissented.

The Governor of Nassarawa State under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) it is recalled sought re-election for a second term but faced stiff opposition from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) during the election .

Penpushing further reports that the sitting Governor was said to have polled a total of 347,209 votes to defeat his closest opponent Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) , who secured 283,016 votes.
