Transparency Network inaugurates new executive

A Non Governmental Organisation, Transparency and Accountability Network has inaugurated new leadership at the national level and Ogun State Management Team at a ceremony held in Abeokuta

Penpushing reports that, Olukunle Adeogun of Women Consortium of Nigeria (WOCON) emerged as the National Coordinator, while others include: Alhaja Rabiu Kudirat of FOMWAN (Treasurer), Sina Adefolahan (Public Relations Officer), Ms Moji Akinsanya(Financial Secretary) while a representative of Centre for Women Health and Information is to serve as National Secretary.

The officers emerged as  the Ogun State Management Team include Mary Ajayi of WODECO as Chairperson., Sola Olufemi (Secretary), Funmi Hassan (Treasurer), Adetutu Babatunde(Financial Secretary) and  Utsaz Jubril Lawal(Public Relations Officer)

Penpushing further reports that, the National Coordinator in his acceptance speech noted that there is no better time to fight corruption in Nigeria than now, pledging to lead the organisation along the path of strengthening the culture of Openess and Accountability with the Governance system in Nigeria.

‘I feel honored to be given the responsibility of being the National Coordinator of our great movement, Transparency and Accountability Network, (TAN). There is no better time than now, to tackle the issue of corruption in our country as a whole, and make Transparency a way of life’ he added.

‘I promise to put in my best and work with the Board and Management of TAN to achieve our objective.I call on all of us to cooperate with each other, bring out ideas and programs that will make our operation smooth, and connect with all the Geo-political zones of our country, Nigeria’, Adeogun stated.

The Chairman Board of Trustee of the network  Apostle Tola Adenekan conducted the inauguration, while in a similar development, in a goodwill  message, Mrs Sumbo Oladipo of Centre for Women Health and Information called on the new  teams to work in unity and mobilise other organisations and stakeholders to demand Transparency and Accountability at all levels of public and private sector for quality service delivery for the well being of the entire Citizenry.

Penpushing also reports that, the network was registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission in June 2021 to operate in Nigeria, while at the ceremony twenty eight Non Governmental Organisations were presented with certificate of membership.
