Traditional council debunks removal of community head of Ashipa-Tejuoso in Ogun state
The traditional council of Obada-Oko community in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun state has debunked speculations that, the community head of Ashipa-Tejuoso, Chief Oladele Adekunle Folarin has been relieved of his office.
Penpushing reports that, the Chairman of the Council, Chief Gbenga Matthew, who also doubles as the Baale of Elejirin dispelled the alleged removal of the village head, following controversial radio announcement by some suspected aggrieved indigenes of the community.
The Chairman of the traditional council, to buttress the claim, provided evidences which include certificate of recognition issued by Ewekoro local government, certificate of chieftaincy title issued by Olu Itori, the prescribed authority in the zone, and certificate of chieftaincy with reference number IV/.988 signed by Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo handed over to the said Baale of the community.
Penpushing further reports that, Matthew declared that, as at the time of speaking with journalists, no letter of suspension of the community head of Ashipa-Tejuoso had been received, nor forwarded by the prescribed authorities responsible for his installation
‘We heard on the radio announcement on July 3, 2022 that Baale of Ashipa-Tejuoso, Chief Adekunle Folarin had been removed, that is not correct. We have not receive a letter to such effect, and we are using this opportunity to tell the world that, Chief Adekunle Folarin remain the bonafide and authentic Baale of Ashipa-Tejuoso’, he emphasized
Penpushing also reports that, in a similar vein, Secretary of the council of Baales, ,said the rumored removal of Baale Ashipa-Tejuoso was nothing but white and tissues of lies, affirming that, after the speculations, the council met and decided to give clearer position of situation, to affirm authenticity of Folarin as Baale of the said community‘
It is a white lie, we didn’t receive any letter to that effect, we met at the council level and discovered that it is fake. As at today, no such letter from Alake or Oluwo Iporo, Chief Alani Bankole. I am the Secretary of the Baales in Council, and affirming this authoritatively”,he stressed
