Top soya based production company empowers widows

The Apple and Pears Limited, a top player in soya –based and edible oil productions have empowered 10 widows in the community where it operates, a gesture which is part of its socio responsibility agenda to uplift human dignity.

Penpushing reports that Managing Director of the organization Ali Hasbini said the gesture was a subtle way to appreciate the widows who had taken it upon themselves to cater for the family after the loss of their husbands, as well as to encourage them to continue to be industrious.

“From the little provisions we are hereby offering, we believe that they will be empowered to cater for their children and look after themselves too. We also want to encourage them to continue to contribute their quota in building the family as a whole and the country at large. This empowerment programme is our little way to cushion their pain and bring succor to the home’, Hasbini stated

Penpushing reports that wife of the former President, Mrs Bola Obasanjo during the presentations of the items which include products from the company, trading materials to aid visibilities of the products, reiterated the need for companies to always reach out to the vulnerable in the community.

The wife of Obasanjo who was the special Guest of Honour at the occasion said she was proud of the establishment for deeming it fit to empower widows, stressing that in the long run women who are the nation builders would provide succor to a great number of dependents

“A good sign from companies who are socially responsible is their contribution towards uplifting the dignity of human. I am particularly proud of Apple and Pears for deeming it fit to empower widows and in the long run women who are the nation builders’, she added.

‘With this gesture of yours, you have provided succor to a great number of dependents of these women, and it is only in the future that you will realise that this little mustard seed you have planted, will be a great Oak”.

Penpushing further reports that at the well-attended ceremony with number of personalities, she, however, encouraged the recipients to judiciously make use of the items provided and think outside the box to expand the business.

The Group Managing Director, Apple and Pears Limited, Bassel Jaafar, on his own part urged the recipients to always see the company as partners in their welfare, adding that the organization on its part will continue to deliver excellent quality products which have exceptional values and good value for many of the customers.

Penpushing also reports that Anand Midhun, Director of Operations, in his remarks appreciated the accolades showered on the company and reiterate  that Apple and Pears will continue as a matter of policy reach out to the vulnerable as at when due.
