Tinubu scraps ministry of sports, realigns others
The Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has scrapped the Ministry of Sports while sporting activities will now be under the National Sports Commission (NSC), as well as announcing the scrapping of some federal ministries and realigned others.
Penpushing reports that Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris made this known on Wednesday while briefing State House correspondents after a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), held in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
The Minister added that the Ministry of Niger Delta is renamed Ministry of Regional Development incorporating all regional development bodies such as the North-East, North West, and other development commissions.
Penpushing further reports that Idris disclosed that in a related development the President has ordered the scrapping of the Ministry of Tourism and all its activities will now be under a renamed Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy.
