Tinubu recalls Nigeria’s High Commissioner to United Kingdom, affirms competence in office

The Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has recalled Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alhaji Sarafa Isola, who the President affirmed to have performed creditably well as the country’s principal representative in London.

Penpushing reports that in the letter of recall signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, said the envoy is expected to commence the process of winding down his affairs, and take formal leave of his host government within sixty days and to return to Nigeria by 31 October, 2023 at the latest.

‘I have the honour to notify you of Mr President’s decision to recall you signalling the end of your tenure as Ambassador  Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Kingdom’, the letter reads

‘By this communication, you are now expected to commence the process of winding down your affairs, and take formal leave of your host government within sixty days and to return to Nigeria  by 31st, 2023 at the latest’ Tuggar wrote

‘I seize this opportunity to express Mr President’s appreciation for the service you have rendered in your capacity as Nigeria’s Ambassador and Principal Representative in United Kingdom’, the letter dated August 1, 2023 added

‘While looking forward to welcoming you in Abuja on your return, please allow me to join Mr President in thanking Your Excellency for your exemplary leadership and service to Nigeria. I wish you God’s continued guidance in yourfuture endeavours. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurance of my highest consideration’, Tuggar stated

Penpushing further reports that Ishola, a notable member of Penpushing platform, it is recalled was appointed in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari, and before then, he served as Minister during the Musa Yar’Adua administration.
