Tinubu increases membership of media team
The Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has increased number of his media aides as he announced appointment of more persons to his media team, bringing the total number in the Presidential Advisory team to at least eleven.
Penpushing reports that Tinubu in the updated media team appointment made available on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, gave identities of the new team as include Fela Durotoye,(Senior Special Assistant on National Values and Social Justice).
The other appointees are Frederick Nwabufo,(Senior Special Assistant on Public Engagement, Linda Akhigbe,(Senior Special Assistant on Strategic Communications), Aliyu Audu(Special Assistant on Public Affairs and Francis Abah (Personal Assistant on Special Duties).
Penpushing further reports that it is recalled that Tinubu, on assumption of office in May, 2023 made 20 new appointments out of which no fewer than six were his media aides., among them were Tunde Rahman (Senior Special Adviser on Media); Abdulaziz Abdulaziz( Senior Special Adviser Print Media); O’tega Ogra, Senior Special Adviser(Digital/New Media); Tope Ajayi,(Senior Special Adviser Media and Public Affairs); Segun Dada (Special Assistant Social Media); Nosa Asemota (Special Assistant Visual Communication).
The President with this appointment may have surpassed his predecessors in making appointments to the presidential media team, and this is besides the appointment of 48 ministers, secretary to the government of the federation, chief of staff and other special aides to assist the president in administering various sectors, including the economy, security, tax, health, SDGs, education, food and agriculture.
