THIRTEEN LOCALITIES SELECTED FOR VERBAL, AUTOPSY SURVEY IN OGUN
The National Population Commission (NPC) boss said a team of six personnel (1 Coordinator for the Southwest), 1 Supervisor for Ogun State, One technical group working member and three interviewers will be going round these localities to carry out this national assignment.
Penpushing further reports that, Aderinokun revealed that this survey is to throw more light on early childhood mortality and system factors of Neonatal deaths using the 2018 Nigeria Demographic And Health Survey Households.
The Federal Commissioner explained that, this is the second to be conducted by the Population Commission, stressing that it will surely provide basis for policy makers and planners in the health sector for maternal and child health in Nigeria in general and Ogun State in particular.
She added “the data expected to be generated from this survey will be used by policy makers and other stakeholders to formulate policies, designs and implement programmes that will go a long way in reducing Neonatal and Child mortality to the barest minimum in Nigeria and Ogun State in particular”
Penpushing also reports that, she also pleaded with government officials in the state and the 20 Local Government Areas to support success of the exercise, adding that two sets of interviewing teams shall be involved in the survey..
“In view of the importance of this survey, I want to urge government officials in the State and the 20 LGAs, security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders and members of the press to give all necessary support to success of the exercise” she said.
