Thirteen die on Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash
Thirteen persons were on Wednesday killed, and twelve others injured in a multiple road accident which occurred at the Danco petrol station axis of Lagos-Ibadan expressway, involving two vehicles.
Penpushing reports that, the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Ogun State Command Ahmed Umar confirmed the sad news in a statement, adding that, total number of twenty-five people were involved in the crash
The Sector Commander disclosed that the affected vehicles were Mazda bus with registration number APP 28 YE and a white colour Volvo truck with number plate NA, adding that the fatal accident was traced to overtaking and overload
Penpushing further reports that, Umar said as at the time of filing this report the injured victims were taken to Idera hospital and the bodies of the killed deposited in the morgue of the same hospital
The statement added that, as at the time of this report, the authorities of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), engaged the police in towing the vehicles involved from the scene of the accident.
