Tanker explodes, burns vehicles on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
A petrol-laden tanker exploded Thursday around Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway causing multiple crashes, as suspected causes of the multiple crash was traced to speed, brake failure and loss of control on the part of the Tanker
Penpushing reports that, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Command Florence Okpe, while confirming the incident, said three vehicles were involved.
The image maker of the agency the vehicles include Toyota Cammry with registration number AAA251, Toyota Corolla car registration number LSD828GS and Mack Truck which number was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
Penpushing further reports that, Okpe said a total of five persons were involved who were all male adult, adding that two persons were injured and that no death recorded from the road traffic crash
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), however, in a statement warned motorists to drive cautiously and remain calm until the fire is extinguished, adding that operatives of the agency and other sister agencies are on the ground as firefighters make efforts to put out the fire.
Penpushing also reports that, Okpe, as at the time of this report explained that, the rescue operation was still on to put the fire under control by personnel of Ogun State Fire service, stressing that Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) men alongside other agencies were managing the traffic situation.
