Suspected cultist declared wanted over alleged murder of automobile mechanic

The Ogun State Police Command has declared a suspected notorious cultist, popularly called ‘Bobo’  wanted  over alleged gruesome murder of an automobile mechanic in Igbesa axis of Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement on Sunday, said the runaway suspect is known to have been terrorizing the community and environs, with his latest crime linked to killing of the victim he attacked

The police said, the deceased, Salaudeen Lawal was called to fix a vehicle which developed a mechanical fault, but was accused by the suspect( Bobo) and his colleagues of obstructing the road with the vehicle he was repairing.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi in the statement said, this, however, led to an argument between them, consequent upon which the said suspect (Bobo) broke a bottle and stabbed the deceased on his hand and cut one of the veins

The police spokesman said, distress call was made to the police at Igbesa Divisional headquarters and the Divisional Police Officer, SP Abayomi Adeniji quickly led his men to the scene and rescued the victim to the hospital where he later gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.

Penpushing also reports that, the statement said, the suspect, having realized what he did, took to heels immediately, while one of his accomplices has been arrested and he is helping the police in their investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has ordered a massive manhunt for the suspect, and he also directed that the case be taken over by the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.

Penpushing reports that, the police boss also appealed to residents of the area to remain calm as the command will do everything possible to apprehend the fleeing suspect who is neither a student of the only tertiary institution in the town nor an indigene of the town.
