Former military administrator slumps, dies while playing lawn tennis

The former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, Navy Captain Omoniyi Caleb Olubolade (rtd), has been reported dead, after he slumped on Sunday May 11, 2025 while playing lawn tennis at a nearby facility to his house in Apapa, Lagos State.

Penpushing reports that the news of the death of Olubolade who celebrated his 70th birthday on November 30, 2024, was made known in a statement by his first daughter, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Akinadewo and first son, Mr. Dayo Olubolade.

“He drove himself to the facility to play lawn tennis in the evening and slumped while playing. Efforts were made by medical officers around to revive him to no avail. He was immediately rushed to Obisesan Naval Medical Hospital, Apapa where he was pronounced dead”, the statement reads

Penpushing further reports that the deceased was Ipoti-Ekiti-born retired officer, and also Minister of Special Duties, Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Minister of Police Affairs.

Meanwhile, the family in the statement as at the time of filing this report explained that the burial announcement of the former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State will be announce later
