STATE SECURITY SERVICE HANDS OVER AISHA BUHARI’S ORDERLY TO POLICE FOR ALLEGED N2.5BILLION FRAUD

The spokesperson of the State Security Service (SSS), Peter Afunanya in an update on the development said, the first lady was absolved from the illegality, explaining that the suspect was not at any given time or circumstance directed or indirectly instructed to collect money or material on her behalf

“Investigation, however, disclosed that he was never, at any given time or circumstance, directly or indirectly, instructed, by the First Lady, to act or collect, in her name, money or material gifts from any person(s) or group(s),” the statement  said.

Penpushing further reports that, the State Security Service(SSS)  said  the former orderly would now be disciplined by the police, after forwarding the outcome of its investigation into the alleged fraud, but the statement did not categorically say whether or not the investigation uncovered suspected illicit funds with erring officer, or the precise amount.

Penpushing recalled that the police had previously looked into the matter, but found nothing incriminating to hold against the suspect, before the matter was later transferred to the State Security Service (SSS) for further probe.
