Two alleged highway armed robbers arrested in ogun state

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected highway alleged notorious armed robbers on the  long bridge along Lagos Ibadan express way while robbing motorists.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi made this know on Sunday in a statement, and gave identities of the suspects as include: Ibrahim Nura(27) an indigene of Kebbi State and Isaac Kyegh an indigene of Benue both of who reside in Kara Isheri Ogun State.

The police image said the suspects were apprehended while attacking one Agoro Adebayo and Olalekan Toheeb whose vehicle had mechanical fault on the bridge.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi explained that the victims on trying to rectify the fault, the two men suddenly came out from under the bridge and threatened the duo with knife and cutlass so as to dispossess them of their valuables.

‘In the process, the patrol team from Warewa division led by the DPO SP Afeniforo Folake who are on routine patrol on the bridge met them on the act. On sighting the policemen, the suspects took to their heels and jumped under the bridge’

 Penpushing also reports that, the Command said the suspects  were hotly chased and apprehended right under the bridge where they have turned to their hideout, adding that a  jackknife was recovered from them.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Special Anti Robbery Squads (SARS) for discreet investigation and prosecution.
