Penpushing further reports that the society pointed out that late Oso was one of the advocates of the establishment of a professional body in the broadcast sector to serve as the rallying point for broadcasters most especially for regular training to salvage the sector from declining performance.

‘To demonstrate his full support for the establishment of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Professor Oso was the Guest Lecturer at a workshop organised for  members of the Society in Lagos recently where he reviewed the performance of the broadcast media in Nigeria in relation to the coverage before, during and after the 2023 general elections.’, the statement recalled

‘The sudden death of Professor Oso can be likened to the incineration of an irreplaceable archive of knowledge. It is unbelievable. It is a monumental loss with devastating effects. Death has indeed robbed the media of a great scholar and mentor per excellence’, he added.

Penpushing also reports that Bamgbose stated that the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters mourns   with the immediate family, the Lagos State University and indeed all media practitioners in every sector over the sad loss.
