Six persons killed on Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash

The  Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Ogun State Command on Wednesday confirmed that six person’s were killed in an accident which occurred in Kara axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, as well as number of others sustaining serious injuries.
Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer, Florence Okpe said in a statement that,the crash occurred at about 5.55pm involving a Toyota Previa vehicle with registration number LRG165AA, adding that a rescue team in Mowe unit command  carried out rescue operation  at the scene.
“The crash which occurred at about 1755HRS . 01  vehicle was involved  with registration number LRG165AA a Toyota PREVIA   A total number of 08  persons were  involved   which comprises of (06 female  adult and 02  male  adult) .Number of people injured were 01  female adult  and number killed were 06 ( 05 female  adult and 01  male adult)”,she said
Penpushing further reports that, Okpe said  the injured victims were  taken to Redeem  Hospital   for medical treatment,while the dead bodies were deposited at Idera Hospital morgue Sagamu, adding that the  suspected cause  of the  crash was  excessive speed   which led to loss of control
The Sector Commander  Ahmed Umar described the crash as avoidable act and advised motorists to avoid excessive speed and dangerous driving especially on Lagos-Ibadan expressway which is still under construction
Penpushing also reports that Umar commiserated with the victims of the crash and the family and also enjoined them to contact the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)Command in Mowe  for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered  from the scene of the crash
