Selfless Soul Relief Foundation launches welfare package for widows, less privileged

A Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO), Selfless Soul Relief Foundation on Thursday launched maiden edition its medical and welfare package for residents of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, which focused on aged, widows and less privileged in the society.

Penpushing reports that the package which was designed to commemorate the 50th birthday of the founder, Chief (Mrs) Olufunke Adekanbi Taiwo attracted over 100 beneficiaries at event held at Isale-Igbein area of the town.

The organization with incorporated trustee having being registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has its aims and objectives as include: to cater for the helpless, old people and the indigent persons in the society, to provide relief to human kind under stress and assure them of secured future

Penpushing further reports that free facilities provided at the event include check on blood pressure, blood sugar, Hepatitis B, Sputum for Tuberculosis and dispensing of drugs, as well as provision of food for the beneficiaries among others.

The cross section of beneficiaries of the project in an interview with Penpushing Media expressed appreciation to the management of the organization, pointing out that it was a welcome development which brought hope for them.

Penpushing also reports that the founder while speaking with Penpushing Media explained that her passion for welfare of the needy propelled her to establish the foundation, adding that, she is happy with what she ventures into

The Advanced Nursing Practitioner who disclosed that the headquarters of the foundation is located at number 5, James Folarin Street, Laderin, Abeokuta, assured that the programme will be carry out periodically for now.

‘My passion for welfare, particularly for the widows, homeless and less privileged propelled me in establishing the foundation. Generally, I want everybody around me to be happy. I feel concern when people are suffering’, she explained

Penpushing reports that Taiwo disclosed that the organization is also working towards spreading its tentacle around the states of the country, and engaged coordinators, with Abeokuta still to serve as the headquarters.

‘We have recorded over 100 participants at today’s programme. We intends doing it periodically, and plans are underway to spread the gestures across all states of the country, with coordinators in all states, and Abeokuta remain headquarters’ she added

Penpushing further reports that Taiwo accompanied by her husband at the programme, expressed appreciation to him, adding that he (husband) has been supportive, in helping to fund the project alongside with her, which is gradually becoming a household name globally.

The founder disclosed that the management, in the same vein, has a plan and vision to establish temporary shelter for the needy, which will serve as transit camp towards their rehabilitation, and make them comfortable

‘We have a vision to build a temporary shelter, which will serve as a transit camp for the needy, to rehabilitate them, and thereafter, support them further in standing on their own, so they won’t become a burden’, she emphasized
