Robbers invade school in Ogun state, cart away chairs, tables
The Baptist Day School at Alaaguntan area of Ewekoro Local Government, Ogun State, was on Monday invaded by suspected armed robbers who carted away valuable items, after breaking in through the ceiling
Penpushing reports that, the suspects having gained access into the classrooms of the school comprising three blocks of classrooms, during the midnight invasion, made away with chairs, tables, bell, a wall clock, and some books
The school, housing over 40 pupils in different classes ranging from primary one to five, was said to have being built by Lafarge Plc and handed over to the Ogun state government, which is located between Elebute and Alaaguntan areas in the local government.
Penpushing further reports the Elebute community head, Abdulwaheed Onigbinde, confirmed the incident, while in similar vein, a resident, added that, the stolen properties were modern, expressing dismay why the robbers resorted in the stealing
“I was informed that some robbers invaded the school and carted away chairs. We will need to report the case to Lafarge before going to the police station because it was the company that built the school’, the community head said.
Penpushing reports that, a teacher in the school, said he got to the school alongside his colleague to discover that the ceiling was broken and some of the school properties were missing, adding that the staffers were shocked.
“We were all surprised and wondered what could have happened. Till this moment, we have not gotten anybody in connection with it, we suspected that it will be robbers. We have informed Lafarge and I think the management has started an investigation”, the teacher said
Penpushing also reports that, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi as at the time of filing this report said the command was unaware of the attack, adding that the authorities will commence investigation.
