Renowned legal practitioner, Yemi Oke set for senatorial slot of all progressives’ congress in ogun state, begins consultation
A renowned legal practitioner, Prof Yemi Oke has concluded readiness under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to renew his aspiration to contest for Ogun Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Penpushing reports that Oke had twice contested primaries for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency (House of Representative) in 2007 and 2011 and stepped down for Dimeji Bankole when the party leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prevailed on him
The prominent Scholar speaking with Penpushing Media explained that he was determined this time and not ready to step down, explaining that he has continued to consult widely with party stakeholders and other interests on his renewed aspiration to contest
‘As the race for the Ogun Central Senatorial election gathers momentum, I have continued to consult widely with party stakeholders and other interests on my renewed aspiration to contest for Ogun Central election on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC)’, Oke added.
Penpushing further reports that it would be recalled in March 11, 2014, he joined All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yaba, Akoka, Lagos and later in January moved his membership to Abeokuta
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2023, aspired to the Senate of Ogun Central under All Progressives Congress (APC) but, upon wide consultation with notable stakeholders, he was prevailed upon to work for Patty’s success in the 2023 elections, and he did with huge success.
Penpushing also reports that Oke emphasized that he is all out to contest again for the 2027 Ogun Central Senatorial seat, and he is resolved to give the race whatever it takes as a dogged stakeholder, national and international personality.
The known cerebral and fearless legal practitioner and politician disclosed that he has done his E-Registration to reconfirm his status as a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that Ogun Central Senatorial 2027 election promises to throw-up credible candidates with global track records.
