Reckless driver kills traffic official in Ogun state
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) on Wednesday lost one of its proactive officer, Sunday Adeyemi Fagbiye who was knocked down by a reckless truck driver along Abeokuta-Interchange road.
Penpushing reports that, the sorrowful incident occured at about 6am,on Wednesday while the officials of the agency were on official patrol along the route, and sadly the death of the officer came while the world is preparing for the Christmas celebration.
The said truck driver was sad to have rammed on the official vehicle of the agency which was badly damaged and resulted in the death of Fagbiye, as well as other colleagues seriously injured and as at the time of filing this report receiving treatment in an hospital.
Penpushing further reports that, the Commander of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Seni Ogunyemi confirmed the sad news at the conference and retreat for senior officers of the agency with the theme, “Ogun State Strategic Transport Master Plan: Role of TRACE”, held at Valley View at Government House, Abeokuta.
The shocking development brought a twist to the conference which was however, held in low key, as a way to honour the departed officer, who until his sudden death was known to be a dedicated official of the agency
Penpushing also reports that, the Chairman Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Chief Tokunbo Odebunmi delivered a lecture titled, ” Leadership and Succession Plan in Civil Service”
The the 7th edition of the capacity building training workshop was declared open by the Ogun State Deputy Governor,Engr(Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who also expressed condolence over the sudden death of the officer of the corps
