Provost of College of Broadcasting counsels pioneer students on career success

The management of College of Broadcasting affiliated to Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital has called on the students of the college to join hands with the authority in propagating the institution towards greater height.

Penpushing reports that, the Provost of the College, Dr Ayoola Ajasa made the call on the theme, ’Attaining Career Success in Broadcasting; The Hidden  Facts’, during orientation programme for the pioneer students of the college.

The Provost addressing the undergraduates in the lecture hall of the college located in Opako-Adigbe area of Abeokuta explained that the institution focus is to produce professionals for the broadcasting industry.

Penpushing further reports that, Ajasa tasked the students on need to also imbibe humility which he said is an avenue to attain success, adding that they should have good attitude to excel in the profession and noted that professionals needs people to excel.

‘I want to charge you to exhibit humility, and as our pioneer ambassadors, you must have good attitude to excel in the profession. Professionals need people to excel. Attitude can open gate of success or failure, so embrace attitudinal change’, he said.

‘The College of Broadcasting is a professional school, don’t miss classes and be diligent. We are interested in imparting knowledge. Let there be harmony and be a team player with the management’, Ajasa emphasised

Penpushing also reports that, earlier in his welcome speech, Registrar of the College, Fatai Akinbola narrated the emergence of the college, which  the process started in February, 2018, and got affiliated to Crescent  University thereafter.

The registrar added that the college, which is the brainchild of Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria(FIBAN)  has come to stay, explaining that  its focus is to sanitize and professionalized the broadcasting industry.

‘And let me say this, to know the quality here, the College is affiliated to Crescent University, and certificate to be issued is from the Crescent University. Our mission is to provide excellence in broadcast, we want to turn out students with technical knowledge and professionalism’ ,Akinbola said.

Penpushing reports that, President of Freelance Independent Broadcaster Association of Nigeria (FIBAN)   who is the visitor to the college, Desmond Nwachukwu in his remarks said the students have made the right choice to study at  the college.

The Nigerian broadcasters’ boss represented by Ogun State Chapter Chairman of the association, Omilani encouraged the pioneer students to  also encourage other prospective students in broadcasting to take advantage of the college to earn academic certificate which will also boost their work

Meanwhile, management staff of the college which include: Oluwatobiloba Odetoyinbo(Academic  Officer),Moshood Buhari( Administrative Officer) and Junaid AbeebAccountant  also made  remarks  to clear some grey areas at the orientation  which lasted for about four hours,  with the students in attendance and listened religiously throughout.
