Project Nigeria in good light, Apostle Achudume advises journalists

The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume has called on Nigeria media practitioners to always play their roles of being the voice of the people judiciously, stressing that the success or otherwise of every government lies in their hands.

Penpushing reports that Achudume made the call on Sunday in his sermon at the thanksgiving service held at the church headquarters along Abeokuta-Ajebo Road, Abeokuta, to usher in the 2023 Press Week of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council

The known frankly speaking cleric said journalists should embrace habit of projecting the image of their country in good manner, as done in other advanced countries, rather than using their pen to ridicule the nation.

Penpushing further reports that Achudume affirmed that Nigeria is a nation dearly love and in the heart of God, in view of various challenges confronting the country, and also expressed optimism that with positive and adequate, as well as proper reportage of the country by the media, the country will become greater

The clergyman pointed out that there are lots of potentials in Nigeria which are been under reported and charged journalists to rise up to their professional callings in making the country great, rather than joined mischemakers in running down the country

Penpushing also reports that he noted that it is glaring that journalists are the hopes of the voiceless, hence, the need to support in fighting for their needs and welfare at all time, which he said will further strengthened their hopes for better future.

The renowned clergyman in the same vein explained that breaking forth in life goes beyond the accumulation of wealth which in most cases cannot be used by an indication in a lifetime, but being fulfilled in life and staying contented.

Penpushing reports that Achudume pointed out that, to succeed in life one needs to locate his purpose in life and pursue it, and thereby urged people to stay in their calling and avoid distractions, equally calling for need to remove ethnicity and religious bias in all they do.

The lead pastor emphasised that until governance affects the people directly, the leaders cannot be adjudged to have done well, and therefore called on the leaders to be accountable to the people and God.
