Prisoners Rehabilitation Welfare Action holds 30th anniversary December
The Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA),a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) is set for its 30th anniversary scheduled to hold between December 2-4, 2024 at Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Penpushing reports that Lead Coordinator, Mary Ewere made this known in a statement adding that the body will use the occasion to celebrate the extraordinary contributions of its partners, supporters, and advocates who have championed the cause of justice, security, peace, rehabilitation, and development in the past three decades when it began operations.
The lead coordinator stated that the events will take place at Abuja Continental Hotel (Formerly Sheraton Hotel), stressing that to commemorate its landmark achievements the organisation, will be hosting a series of events, including International Exhibitions, International Conference and an Awards Night.
Penpushing further reports that Ewere explained that the Non-Governmental Organization has in the past 30 years worked tirelessly to advance justice, rehabilitation and social reintegration for inmates, ex-inmates, victims of torture and youths at risk.
‘The International Conference on Justice, Peace, Security, and Development: Impact, Lessons, and Future: This conference will convene experts, stakeholders, and advocates from around the globe to discuss key issues in justice and rehabilitation’, the statement read.
Penpushing also reports that the coordinator said part of opening of the week-long event include exhibition of products of correctional service vocational workshop and agricultural centers, products by inmates, ex-inmates, those serving non-custodial sentences, youths-at-risks, torture victims/survivors among others
