Fire guts Alao-Akala’s residence

The Ogbomosho residence of late former Governor of Oyo State Adebayo Alao-Akala in Ogbomoso, was on Monday gutted by fire, as witness disclosed that the fire was caused by a gas explosion, while two persons were reported to have sustained injuries.

Penpushing reports that the Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Service, Ismail Adeleke, confirmed the incident explaining that the service got a distress call at about 8.30 a.m. from one Tolu Ikusagba, Managing Director of Parrot101.1FM, Ogbomoso.

The Director of Operations Fire Service said the cause of the fire incident could not be immediately ascertained, as at the time of filing this report but, however, affirmed that the fire had been put out, adding that of the two persons that sustained injury, one was severe.

Penpushing further reports that Adeleke added that updates would be provided about the incident, while a witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, emphasized that the fire was caused by a gas explosion.

The witness added that the incident led to the death of one person, while the two people who sustained injury had been taken to hospital for treatment, but his claim was yet to be confirmed by the appropriate authorities as at the time of this report
