PRESIDENTIAL RACE WITHDRAWAL: PARTY ACCUSES EZEKWESILI OF PLOT TO NEGOTIATE FOR MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT

The  party’s statement was in reaction to Ezekwesili statement by her campaign organization announcing her withdrawal from the race, explaining that she did that to help build a coalition to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress( APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Penpushing also reports that the leadership of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) in further reactions declared its support for President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).and disowned Ezekwesili.

“The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) is withdrawing support for her Presidential aspiration and endorsing the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari to take Nigeria to the next level,” the statement said.

The party in a statement distributed to journalists at a press briefing in Abuja said Ezekwesili  action was taken without consulting the party, stating that, “this she does not seeing fit to inform the party whose mandate she is holding,”.

“I have been put into confidence by one of her aide named lyinoluwa Aboyeji that she only wanted to use the platform of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) to negotiate to be Nigeria’s Finance Minister”, Galadima said.

Penpushing further reports that, the party also accused Ezekwesili of opening several accounts in the name of the party and her campaign without the knowledge of the party, and advised her to return all properties and donation received.

The Secretary of the party, Paul Isamade,  when asked if the party had an idea how much Ezekwesili got as donations, said she revealed and  admitted to the party about a month ago that she got $5000 and N35 million from local donations.

Penpushing also reports that, the party scribe said the former Presidential Candidate of the party opened up to have spent N29 million so far. However,  Ezekwesili had said in her Thursday morning statement that she would provide details of her campaign expenses.
