
Presidency withdraws list of appointees, following errors
The Presidency has withdrawn the list of 152 appointees it released earlier on Wednesday, with North-West having the largest number, South-West 29, and South-East 16, explaining that there were errors.
Penpushing reports that the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Sunday Dare made this known in a post on X, and regretted the errors, with a promise that update will be provided.
The Special Adviser, however, did not highlight the errors in the list not explained why the list was released, but sources said it may not be unconnected with the accusation of nepotism against Tinubu.
Penpushing further reports that number of Nigerians have repeatedly pointed out that the President has favoured his zone, South-West in the appointments made since assuming office in May 2023.
The list of appointees from South-West include Bosun Tijani (Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy), Wale Edun (Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy), Bunmi Tunji-Ojo (Minister of Interior), Adebayo Adelabu (Minister of Power)

The list equally include Kayode Egbetokun(Inspector General of Police), Zaccheus Adedeji (Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Services), Adeola Ajayi(Director General of the Department of State Services), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi (Comptroller-General of Customs) and Olanipekun Olukoyede(Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission)
