Iyalode Alaba Lawson tasks women journalists on educational trust fund

The Iyalode of Yorubaland,  Iyalode Alaba Lawson has called on the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) to establish educational trust fund towards the benefits of the indigents and less privileged in the society.

Penpushing reports that, Lawson gave the task when the Ogun State Chapter of the association led by its chairperson, Modupe Sobukola paid her a courtesy call in her office at Lawson International College, Kuto,  Abeokuta.

The educationist pointed out that, as women body and mothers, there was always need to show compassion for the indigents, who are academically brilliant, but lack wherewithal to pursue their education.

Penpushing reports that, Lawson who was decorated as the grand patron of the women journalists assured her guests that, she was also available to support them all time, stressing that, education remains best legacy for the children

‘I am pleased and happy to host you today, and it is a known fact that, women cannot be put aside when it comes to nation building, and education is one of the major factors in nation growth, so it is in view of this I want to encourage you to set up educational trust fund’, Lawson emphasized

The first female President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) while appreciating the role of journalists across the globe, encouraged the women journalists to remained focus in the course of discharging their duties in the midst of their male counterparts

‘I am well pleased and honored to have you here and appreciate the noble association. Women activities cannot be under estimated in any society as their psychic is like engine in building society’, she said

“Show me a man or woman who is hard working and can move mountain but lack focus, and I will show you a failure. Show me a man or a woman who is easy going and steady and focus and I will show you a successful person,  so in any organization you found yourself be focus it will always help you to achieve your goals’, Lawson emphasised.

Meanwhile other executive at the ceremony include: Oluseyi Ajala (Vice Chairperson) Aminat Orunsolu(Gen Secretary), Morekeniji Sobaloju(Treasurer), Bosede Akintunde(Financial Secretary), Adejoke Adeleye and Tope Ugbechie(Ex-Officio).
