Oyo state government assures more project benefits for communities

The Oyo State Government has assured communities and groups in the state of more Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) projects across the State.

Penpushing reports that the Board Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Eesuola stated this on Tuesday inwhile speaking during the quarterly board meeting of the agency in Ibadan, the State Capital, noting that efforts are ongoing to create a separate budget line for community development in the state adopting the Community Driven Development (CDD) approach, with a bid to ensure an all inclusive project across the state.

The Chairman pointed out that the Project will focus on the core poor and voiceless in the society using the state poverty map, adding that the present administration is ready to partner with interested stakeholders/ philanthropists who will be ready to provide support and assistance in the area of community development.

Penpushing further reports that, he said that the Community Development champions will be inaugurated in the State in the shortest possible time to take charge of these responsibilities.

The Acting General Manager, Oyo State  Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Engr (Mrs) Raheemat Adabanija said that with the winding down, government at all levels should focus on mainstreaming the Community Driven Development (CSDA) strategy into their  Government policy.

Penpushing also reports that, she noted that with the success over the years, the agency has been identified as one of the platforms  that will be executing the CARES Program to be funded by the World Bank in the result Area 1, targeted at improving the lives of the people
