New Era Initiative for Persons with Disabilities celebrate 3rd-year anniversary with thanksgiving service, private reception

The New Era Initiative for Persons with Disabilities which champions the rights and empowerment of persons with disabilities in Ogun State, celebrated its 3rd-year anniversary with a thanksgiving service and a private reception.

Penpushing reports that the ceremony held on July 27, 2025, at the Foursquare Gospel Church, Onikolobo Missionary District Headquarters, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, described as a day of reflection and celebration.

The District Overseer, Reverend I.A. Onasanya, praised the organization for its commitment to the community, pointing out that the initiative stood out as a group of persons with disabilities who, despite their physical challenges, are actively working to better the lives of others in the disability community.

Penpushing further reports that   Onasanya equally acknowledged the church’s own efforts in promoting inclusion within its congregation, and thereafter, a private party was held for board members, partners, and well-wishers.

The initiative President Adeyinka Adekunle in his welcome speech at the reception highlighted the organization’s significant achievements over the past three years, adding that the projects embarked have provided crucial support,

Penpushing also reports that he said these include an annual Christmas food bank, an empowerment program for small business owners, support for widows with disabilities, financial aid for students for West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees, and item support for special schools.

The other board members, including Oluwatomisin Olatayo, Toyin Adekunle, Ayo Awobona, Olaiya Bose, and Olusola Ayangbola, congratulated the organization on its milestone and recognized the hard work of its staff and volunteers.

Penpushing reports that the organization reaffirmed its commitment to building a more inclusive Ogun State and promised to continue its efforts to empower persons with disabilities in the years to come, while in a vote of thank Mr. Olatunji Alabede, expressed gratitude to all who have supported the New Era Initiative.
