Police arrest 3 suspects over alleged murder, armed robbery, landgrabbing in ogun state
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects over alleged murder, armed robbery and land grabbing in Orile Eegun Kara Nla village, Mowe located in Obafemi-Owode local government area of the State.
Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola made this known in a statement explaining that the suspects were picked at a hideout in Kara Ileke village, after police intensive efforts
The statement said the police received a distressed call on June 9, 2023 about the illegal activities of the gang, having launched attack on the villagers, adding that in the course of the violent attack, the suspects snatched four Bajaj motorcycles at gunpoint, wounded the motorcycle owners in a bid to use their motorcycles to escape
Penpushing further reports that Odutola said the police team led by the Divisional Police Officer Folake Afeniforo stormed the scene, to discover that the gang had shot two persons, who as at the time of filing this report were confirmed dead
The statement said corpses had being deposited to Idera Hospital for autopsy, adding that the suspects earlier abandoned their vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, Gold colour Saloon car registered with number JJJ 979 HL Lagos, and presently at the Mowe police division
Penpushing also reports that Odutola said the wounded motorcyclists are recuperating in the hospital, as at the time of filing this report, adding that the identities of the arrested suspects would be made public in due course
The statement said the Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji has commiserated with families of the deceased, and gave assurance that the command remain resolute and that the other fleeing suspects would be apprehended.
