Police arrest 18-year-old suspect for murder
An 18-year-old suspect, Fatiyah Abdulhakeem, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command in connection with the murder of Adamu Jagaba, a block industry owner in Minna which occurred on December 7, 2024.
Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, made this known on Sunday, stating that the incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. when the suspect trespassed into the block industry located along Eastern Bye-pass, Minna, and attacked the deceased.
The police spokesperson said the victim was stabbed several times in the head and neck and hit multiple times with a stapler in the office, adding that the suspect then made away with the deceased Toyota Camry vehicle with registration number MNA 61 AE.
Penpushing further reports that Abiodun explained that the police operatives visited the scene and commenced an investigation into the incident, adding that following the circulation of the vehicle’s details to all police points and formations within the state, the Police Crack Squad intercepted the vehicle along Bosso Estate Road, Minna, at about 7 p.m. on the same day.
The Public Relations Officer disclosed that the suspect was arrested, and that during interrogation, confessed to being the victim’s car painter and conspired with some of the deceased workers to carry out the crime.
Penpushing also reports that he said the suspect equally mentioned the names of his gang members, who are at large explaining that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the other gang members involved in the crime.
